Thierry Gidel

Associate Professor

Thierry Gidel is an associate professor at the université de technologie de Compiègne (UTC). He received his PhD degree in industrial engineering from école nationale supérieure d’arts et métiers ParisTech (1999) and he is an authorised PhD supervisor. He worked as a project manager in France, Asia and England for SMEs and industrial groups before being recruited by UTC to develop an engineer training program in Innovative Project Management (2000) and an Innovation Center (2006). He is a certified auditor by International Register of Certificated Auditor (IRCA No. A009713), he has carried out more than 250 audits in the fields of engineering and projects, particularly in the energy sector and in the services sector: insurance, banking, training. His research interests include design methods, multi-project management and innovation. Within COSTECH laboratory, EA 2223, he studies the impact of digital collaborative work in engineering design, problem solving and innovation. Thierry Gidel is the creator and director of the Halle Numérique research platform (Digital Hall research platform). He is the author papers and books on project risk management, collaborative work and on innovation processes as well as books on project management.
