Marie-Helene Abel is Professor in the Computer Engineering Department (University of Technology Compiègne, France) and Head of this department since March 2020. She was in charge of the pedagogical specialization “Knowledge Engineering and Information Media” from 2003 to 2020 and was the leader of the Research Team ICI (Information, Knowledge, and Interaction) – UMR CNRS HEUDIASYC Laboratory from 2008 to 2018. Her research focuses on Semantic Web, Social Web, Knowledge Management, and e-learning with more than 250 publications (journal and conferences) in these areas. She is the head of the MEMORAe project (http://www.hds.utc.fr/memorae). She has been involved in numerous research projects at different levels, regional, national and European. She is also involved in industrial research contracts regarding social network modelling and knowledge management. She was in the scientific committee of conferences on e-learning, knowledge engineering and knowledge management or editorial board member of journals. She serves as Associate Editor of the International Journal of Knowledge-Based Organizations, International Journal of R&D Innovation Strategy, the International Journal on Semantic Web and Information Systems, and IET Collaborative Intelligent Manufacturing. She was the president of SMC chapter of IEEE French section from 2014 to 2022. She is IEEE senior member since 2017.
